Sweetly Broken

This has been a humbling weekend. This weekend me and some friends have personally been able to watch God not just change lives, but eternities because of His love. Me and six friends went to one of the roughest neighborhoods in the upstate NY area. And God shook it for His glory. We saw thugs, ladies, an entire family, and a fifteen year old girl ALL come to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We watched how God had prepared them, long before we arrived, to a point where they were simply ready to surrender all to the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's! It was an awesome privilege to share the hope and joy that Christ can bring to a life, regardless of the situations. As I continue to draw nearer to God, I continually am reminded of the power of our King. I see it in weekends like this, I see it as I go to the B.I. campus and watch one of my old friends from the negative days learning and growing in his week old relationship with the Lord. I see it in the lives of my friends here and abroad. I watch God daily provide for my needs, my families needs, and everyone else's needs and I come to this point of brokenness. A point where I realize how far too often I make evangelism a trip, or an event. Meanwhile there are people all around me, saved and unsaved, who need to see the realness of Christ in my life at ALL TIMES. I find myself letting days where I am tired or uneasy, keep me from being the leader for Christ that I ought to be. I find myself forgetting all to often the joy of my salvation and the life that I now have more abundantly(John 10:10). I catch myself thinking on the future instead of the day at hand. Meanwhile knowing the whole time what I ought to be doing. But then I realize still how awesome and great it is to daily have a personal and REAL relationship with our Heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I want to personally thank all of you who lifted up prayers for us this weekend. God answered them and eternities are changed. I want to thank all of you who have prayed for me and my crusty self. God is breaking, shaping, and molding me. I want to thank all of you who are submitting to God and letting Christ be preached not just through your words, but your life. People like you are the reason people like me come to Christ. Thank you mom and dad.

Well before I go since I have written this much. Let me tell you some AMAZING and EXCITING news as well from last night! For the last 2 years I have been praying about an idea that I have involving Word of Life. I had a vision you could say, which quickly looks like this. Word of Life I.C.E.(Inner City Evangelism) And this is the quick rundown of it. Say we take a city like Tampa k? Now we round up all the churches we know are solid plus some other ones. Then we promote this huge weekend rally for a couple months to get people excited about it. Then we bring in some local Godly bands or some sort of entertainment to draw others in. Then we have an AMAZING conference! People will be recharged, refocused and REDEEMED(salvations)! At the end of the conference we will have a time for all the people, regardless of their church, that are truly wanting to do something for Christ in the local areas come forward to the "ReMiX". Now when I was growing up there were probably 2 out of 40 kids in my church on fire for Christ. This is for these kids! Say 1 comes from this church, 3 from here, 7 from there, and so on. We will get them all together and let them know first of all, Christ has you in your church for a reason. But now that we have these "FIRED" up kids for Christ, and all from the same area. Now they can link up for prayer support, hanging out, community projects and so on and so forth! That way even if the church group is struggling they will not be alone. They will have support and friends in the local area, meanwhile staying in their church to be leaders for Christ!

Secondly and I am done. Promise! :) Is a Quiet Time/Devotional aimed at city kids. The ones who have not been raised in the church or whatever. I went to Chicago on a missions trip before I ever came to WOL and God put it on my heart to find a devotional or something to take back to the kids at the detention center where I worked. There is no such thing! I scoured all throughout the Moody Bible Bookstore and asked around, and they had never heard of such a thing. Well God placed in it my heart that day to do something about it.

Well to make a LONG story shorter I talked with Mike Calhoun(VP of WOL Local Church Ministries) about both of these things last night and he loved them! God is good! He wants me to draw up a plan on paper and give it to him! So PLEASE JOIN ME IN PRAYER as it appears this may actually go from a thought after Quiet Time to a reality for our Savior's glory!

Well for those of you who have read completely this pouring out of my heart. Thanks for caring. It is friends like you that God uses to encourage me day by day. Thanks for being used by the King.

Until the nets are full,
Justin Large
